Bonkers - that's the only way to describe it. Did you ever see anything quite as silly before? But, apparently, it actually flies!
Yes, the Ornithopter is an act of pure folly. In a spirit reminiscent of that which had Victorian gents throwing themselves into the Serpentine whilst flapping planks of wood tied to their arms, somebody's gone a made a flapping flying machine for your delectation and delight.
Powered by the R.A.I.D. III Air Pressure engine it'll flap along for 90 feet, its little wings beating at 6 flaps per second.
Apparently the air engine features dual acting cylinder and an 'accutiming' valve system for optimum flying efficiency, but you won't care. You'll be too busy wondering how the heck it manages to stay in the air.
Quite silly and yet somehow brilliant and definitely worth £34.99 just to see one fly.
